Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Organisers: email address, hashed password, event details you create.
• Guests: name, optional email, gift amount, and optional message — only what you enter on the gift page.
• Photos: images uploaded via the optional photo guestbook feature.
• Usage data: standard server logs (IP addresses, timestamps, user agents) for security and debugging.

We do not collect payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe.

2. How we use it

• To run your events and process gifts.
• To generate AI thank-you messages using the guest's name, amount, and message via the Anthropic API.
• To send verification and password-reset emails via Resend.
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. Third-party services

We use the following processors:

• Cloudflare — infrastructure, database, and file storage. Privacy policy
• Stripe — payment processing. Privacy policy
• Anthropic — AI thank-you generation. Guest name and message are sent to Anthropic's API to generate the note. Privacy policy
• Resend — transactional email delivery. Privacy policy

4. Data retention

Your account and event data are retained until you delete your account. Deleting an event removes all associated gifts and photos permanently. Session tokens expire after 30 days.

5. Your rights

You can delete your events (and all associated data) at any time from your dashboard. To request deletion of your account and all data, email us at qreventgifting@gmail.com. We'll process requests within 30 days.

6. Cookies and local storage

We store your session token in your browser's localStorage — no tracking cookies. No third-party analytics scripts are loaded.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed using PBKDF2 with a per-user salt before storage. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS). We do not store raw passwords.

8. Children

QR Event Gifting is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes

We'll notify you of material changes to this policy by email or a notice on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
